Firefox takes Europe

One in four people use it
Tue Apr 17 2007, 08:23
A BOWSER CALLED Firefox is making inroads into European computers with nearly one in four PCs running the open sauce thingie.

According to an audit of web sites by XiTi, while only 15 per cent of the US uses Firebadger, 24 per cent of Europe uses the browser. Only Oceania has a slightly higher rate of Fireferret usage at 25 per cent.

The browser's use rate in Europe has gained nearly five points since April 2006. It seems more popular in Eastern Europe, presumably as an alternative to pirated copies of Internet Exploder.

And there's more about the bowser, here.
