They're trying to hijack the Interweb!

Warns Tim Berners-Lee
Thu Nov 02 2006, 17:49
BRITISH WORLD WIBBLE DEVELOPER Sir Tim Berners-Lee is concerned about the state of things to come on the internet if it is left to develop unchecked, reports the BBC.

Tim said to the Beeb, "If we don't have the ability to understand the web as it's now emerging, we will end up with things that are very bad." What kind of things, Tim? "Undemocratic things," he said.

Tim's got plans for a new research intiative concerning web science, which will be more than just computer science, he says - he wants to grab top research boffs from all sorts of areas to study the progress of the web as not just a technological body, but to look at the social side too.

He's also interested in introducing web science to a wider range of folks, possibly convincing universities to take it up. "We'd like to put it on the curriculum," he said. The research will be launched as a collaborative effort between the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and Blighty's University of Southampton.

It's predicted that the outcome of the research will have an effect on future web development over the long-haul. µ

I would like to share some exciting news with everyone. I recently discovered Search-and-destroy Antispyware (http://www.Search-and-destroy.com) and it’s the best scanner that I’ve used so far. It picks the same type of bugs that the better known and more expensive scans do and it’s so easy to get. The antispyware solution from Search-and-destroy is the perfect solution for taking care of your computer. I know it’s made a difference for me and I’m so glad that I gave it a try. I really believe that you will benefit from this scan as much as I have and I recommend that you give it a try.
