Microsoft bid speculation drives up SAP share price

SAP rising
Tue Dec 04 2007, 18:13

SAP shares rose 1.8 per cent early morning in the German market leading Reuters to point to rumours that a company of Voles had been spotted sniffing around SAP headquarters.

According to the wire, SAP shares are trading heavily as the rumour of fireside chats with Microsoft gains legs.

SAP's saying nothing. µ

SAP - Every mistake possible and uniquely German

Anyone who has ever had the misfortune to look "under the covers" at SAP realises what an abominable beast it actually is.

It's design dates from 20 (?) years ago and breaches every known software development concept known before or since.

Each and every time SAP attempt to "fix" it, by providing a different interface to their disastrously designed database, the end result is yet another interface to support.

IIRC there are 4 current programming interfaces supported in ABAP.

No amount of money can rescue the SAP code base, as SAP never ditch code, fix code, or remove functionality. They simply add on top of the disaster zone that is already in place.

I am not talking of functionality here - that side of things is apparently strong.

However, until you have seen inside SAP, you are clueless as to how bad application software can actually be, and still work.

Suggesting that MS will make it worse is laughable, as SAP is already way worse than most people can even conceptualise.

MS will walk away, as the only reason that the SAP code base is held together is the unique German ability to rigrously organise and execute independent of all external forces. No US mentality company will EVER be able to do this.

Nooooo

SAP is one of those companys that has (for all I have ever seen) had really good, fast, responsive, useful, creative products..

I would hate to see it turn'd into a slow, cumbersome, overcomplicated click fest :(

SAP ?

What the heck would MS want to do with SAP? SAP is horrid in my opinion.

"I'd rather have bid flu."

Authorities in several countries raided Megaupload recently, shut down all of its services, seized hundreds of servers and arrested several of its executives on criminal charges.

Do you think the move was justified?
