Reseller Ratings hits out at carpetbagging "crybabies"

Changes policy as e-tailer gets it in the teef

A WEB SITE WHICH RATES resellers has taken action against people dragging down firms on its list after one site suffered from 85 negative reviews.

The firm said that a hardware retailer made a simple pricing mistake on an LCD monitor last Saturday, fixed the error on Sunday and told would-be carpetbaggers they wouldn't be getting cheapo screens on Monday.

But, said an executive at Reseller Ratings, that meant the would-be carpetbaggers assembled at the web site and put up 85 negative reviews, so reducing the rating of the reseller from an impressive 9.50+ to a humble 5.82.

Said Scott Wainer at ResellerRatings.com. "This is not the first time this has happened to a retailer. No retailer should be put out of business, or be otherwise damaged, over a typo, and I'm fed up with crybabies trying to bash retailers in such instances. We have enacted a new policy and will be deleting the aforementioned reviews."

The new policy says, in part, "It is an abuse of this entire ratings and reviews process to penalize a retailer for an honest mistake, simply because customers tried to get away with a "too good to be true" [offer] and became angry when their orders were cancelled. If possible, however, it's our recommendation that you should offer those customers a discount on a future order as an apology for the error."

The ratings have returned to a more positive level, as you can read here. ยต
