Brit pips the likes of Gameloft
Wednesday, 3 May 2006, 13:40
BRIT GAME publisher, Player X, has snatched the contract to create a mobile game for the forthcoming Miami Vice movie from the likes of Gameloft.

Player X will publish and distribute the mobile game, as well as produce exclusive mobile audio and graphics from the film. The game for Universal Studios' previous blockbuster, King Kong, was provided by Gameloft.

"Player X is the new cool kid on the block in the world of mobile publishing. They've totally embraced Miami Vice from our first discussion about it, and that passion has translated into a fantastic mobile game that's a blast to play," cooed Jeremy Laws, a vp with Universal Mobile Entertainment.

Player X has a distribution network of more than 70 global operators across Europe, Asia and the Americas with a potential reach of more than 450 million handset subscribers.

The movie stars Colin Farrell and Jamie Foxx as Sonny Crockett and Ricardo Tubbs.
