Dell to intro 2.8GHz desktop notebook machine

Thick end of the wedge
Sun Feb 23 2003, 10:45
THE ONLY PLACE so far we've seen the Inspiron 5100 from Dell is on its French website, here, although Google reveals Dell also has a Spanish version of this notebook, here.

The French Dell site shows it has a 533FSB, a 2.8GHz Pentium 4 and this it describes as a puissant P4.

It also has ATI Mobility Radeon 7500 graphics, 10/100 Ethernet, and a 14.1-inch LCD screenthat is all it says.

Just how long are the Pentium 4Ms for this world? They're still on the roadmap, but Intel probably has a positioning nightmare ahead of it, what with the Pentium M being a non-MHz kind of a thing...

Will Intel introduce PR ratings for its notebook CPUs, we continue to wonder? ยต
