Linux axe-man turned Live spinner leaves Microsoft

Mysterious departure leaves questions unanswered
Wed Jun 21 2006, 15:23
MARTIN TAYLOR, who was famous for launching Microsoft's anti-Linux "get the facts" campaign, has mysteriously left the Redmond Volehill.

As the general manager of platform strategy. Taylor's anti-Linux struggle could have caused him to fall victim to a Linux fundamentalist cell. HIs last Volish act seems to have been leanding a quote to a Windows Live services press release yesterday. He has since been disappeared.

When hacks rang him up about the press release it turned out that he had emptied his desk and cleared off. A spokesVole was not being particularly helpful about why Taylor departed either.

"We've made the difficult decision to part ways with Martin, but we don't comment on personnel matters… We appreciate Martin's contributions at Microsoft over the past 13 years," the SpokesVole squeaked.

The Vole's official comment seems to suggest that someone in Microsoft decided, for some reason, to give Taylor his p45 and pink slips, particularly as his departure is somewhat rapid.

So far, none of the US press has managed to track Taylor down to hear his reasoning.

He may have problems hearing the phone, he did work closely with Microsoft CEO Steve Ballmer as a director of business strategy at one point in his long Volish career and his furry ears may still be ringing. ยต
