Terratec exits graphics card business in disgust

ATI and Nvidia doing Terratec's brains in
Friday, 21 May 2004, 15:44
RECENTLY, TERRATEC decided to get out of the business of making graphics cards and it's blamed its exit on the continuing wars between Nvidia and ATI.

According to UK graphics analysts Meko, a representative for the firm said that Terratec is "struggling for breath" because of the the fight between the graphics giants, with the pressure to push each of their own graphics chips.

Further, Terratec feels that Nvidia and ATI are really pushing their own brands rather than those of the add-in partners, further piling on the pressure.

Meko analyst Pete Gamby referred back to an earlier piece when his firm wrote: "There's some kind of special club near San Jose where graphics chip vendors congregate to brag about how good their technology is".

We wonder if other partners are feeling the pressure too? µ
