Babel Media plays games with Vodafone

Mobile games tested to destruction
Mon Feb 10 2003, 16:12
MOBILE GAMES ARE SET TO IMPROVE with the announcement from Babel Media that it is the first accredited games tester for Vodafone's "live!". The stringent testing is a move to recreate the strength of console games.

Games on mobile phones have a bit of a reputation to overcome. The power of the latest handsets like the Nokia 7650 and the Sharp GX10 makes old-fashioned games like Snake seem a bit pointless. Babel Media has been testing games from the likes of Taito and Namco, a much more alluring prospect.

The firm has said it is trying to bring games on mobile phones up to the standards players expect from a console. That's no small task but the Vodafone accreditation points to at least someone believing they can do it. ยต
