Yanks spend more time with computer than spouses

Dependant relationship

MORE THAN 65 per cent of North Americans spend more time with their computer than with their spouse or significant other.

According to a survey conducted by Kelton Research, 84 per cent say they are more dependent on their home computer now than they were three years ago.

The also complained that they spent on average 12 hours a month trying to fix faults in their computers.

DigitalTrends.com dug up a famous shrink, Doctor Robi Ludwig, who says that as computers become pervasive, our relationships with them can begin to seem almost as important as our relationships with humans.

He said that when problems then occur with the computer, it often leaves people feeling frustrated or helpless.

The research was conducted for a support outfit called SupportSoft, so the implication is that if you don't use its services your marriage will go down the gurgler.

Of course if your computer works well, you may never see your significant other until you are struck on the back of the head with a shovel and incorporated into a new patio feature. ยต
