Shuttle outs ST61G4 XPC

Quick Squint ATi 9100 IGP in a box
Tuesday, 4 November 2003, 17:54
WE HAD THE CHANCE to play with Shuttle's ST61G4 XPC system already and we liked it. We had been waiting for an XPC sporting ATi's 9100 integrated chipset to tip up. And here its is.

The pre-production system we saw didn't have an Ultra silent 250 Watt PSU but it was pretty.

The machine that started shipping today have this 250W ultra silent PSU, a 6 in 1 card reader that we had opportunity to see on this preproduction model along with an AGP and a PCI slot, support for FSB 800 Intel CPUs and below, as well as SATA with Raid - not at all bad for a small box.

As for connectivity. the machine additionally features integrated 10/100 LAN, three FireWire 400 ports, six external USB 2.0 ports, 6-channel audio with SPDIF digital I/O and ATA100 legacy device support.

There is a space for one DVD / CD drive and for one hard drive.

Even the new fan the system we saw certainly seemed a todger less noisy than the previous Shuttle that we had on test. µ
