Ballmer goes to sort out Wall Street

Now listen here
Tuesday, 30 May 2006, 15:47
MICROSOFT has sent its chief diplomatic expert, company Number two Steve Ballmer to have a few words with Wall Street analysts about their comments that he is ignoring the Vole's loyal shareholders.

According to the Seattle Times, the shy, retiring and unassuming Ballmer has packed his knotted handkerchief with his favourite sarnies and headed off to the Big Apple for two days.

While he is there he will persuade shareholders that his new spending plan will help bolster the software-maker's stock price.

Investors want him to respond to calls to boost the stock by using Microsoft's $34.8 billion cash hoard to buy back shares. They also want him to stop spending money on new products and acquisitions next fiscal year.

Chairman of Holland & Co Michael Holland said that Ballmer had not spent much time listening to people in the capital markets.

He said that he wants to see Ballmer "not being defensive and adversarial but being interested in hearing people". We suggest you catch him when he is sleeping, like Bruce Willis did in Sixth Sense. ยต
