Dell has to honour hard drive SNAFU

Consumer board plumps for consumers

A MISTAKE Dell made in Australia last week which meant 250GB hard drivers were advertised at a knock down price may mean the hardware firm has to honour people who ordered product at the absurdly low price.

That's according to the Age, which said that the New South Wales Office of Fair Trading has ruled Dell has to cough up the drives to customers.

Some people ordered as many as sixty drives, as we reported here last week.

While the Aussie Dell site carries a similar message to that in many other countries - saying it isn't liable for mistakes - this cunning wheeze may not be the rule in some states of Aussieland, it appears. µ
