Sources claim Intel Tolapai not taped out yet

Strange devizes held by Pat Gelsinge

A SOURCE close to Intel's plans said that despite the fact Pat "Kicking" Gelsinger proclaimed production of its Tolapai silicon will reach production next year, the tech hasn't taped out yet.

Rather than being produced this year, the source claimed that if there's no delays production is likely to arrive in the middle of next year at best.

Tolapai, as we reported here and earlier, here, is a cunning future piece of tech which may have a hard time fending off the attentions of plucky little Via and to a lesser extent AMD.
