WEB INSECURITY FIRM Websense says a Skype worm is on the loose. The worm wriggles through the VOIP firm's chat feature, Websense warned.

A download file called "sp.exe" hides a Trojan horse that can pinch passwords and propagate itself.

Websense said the worm first appeared in Asia but rival security firm F-secure said the outfit was over-egging the pudding a bit. "There's no massive worm outbreak with Skype at the moment," said Mikko Hypponen, chief research officer at F-Secure.

So it's a little outbreak then. Unless you happen to affected and have all your passwords nicked. It'll be a bigger deal then.
