Canadian blogger hung drawn and quartered

You're a terrorist kiddo
Monday, 4 February 2008, 07:58

INSPECTOR Knacker of the Toronto Yard has swooped on a student who wrote a blog calling for attacks on Canadian soldiers training to deploy overseas.

Apparently, coppers expect Salman Hossain, a University of Toronto student in his 20s, to commit an act of terrorism at any moment and are monitoring him closely.

Hossain wrote in his bog that Canadian soldiers in Canadian soil who are training to go to Afghanistan or Iraq were legitimate targets to be killed.

Hossein said that it was important to kill as many Western soldiers as well so that they think twice before entering foreign countries on behalf of their “Jew masters”.

Apparently Hossain hoped the Taliban would kill Canadian Defense Minister Peter MacKay during his December visit to Afghanistan.

The coppers are wondering if they should arrest Hossein for hate speech. There problems with the issue of free speech and the fact that a large chunk of Canadians might also want MacKey gunned down just for being Peter MacKey.

Colin Kenny, chairman of Canada's Standing Senate Committee on National Security and Defence, said people should not be going around threatening to attack Canadian soldiers.

We notice he is not attacking the call to have Peter MacKey killed though.

Associated Press went and asked Hossain's mum Umne what she thought of the fruit of her loins. She said he was a nice boy but "stupid, an idiot and immature".

Well there is no crime in being a dickhead or having an unpopular view, otherwise they would have locked Tony Blair up ages ago.

More here. µ

and they wonder...

Arrest him and deport his butt. As a true red and white 7th generation Canadian, i find it a huge insult when immigrants and students using student visas come to my country and start talking smack about it. You should be happy we even let you in.

Attacking Canadians in Iraq

This is the problem with having access to so much media from the US, seems that because there's Canadians in Afghanistan, there must be soldiers in Iraq too. The nut obviously didn't check the local newspaper.
Canada was against fighting in Iraq and didn't send a peacekeeping force let alone a combat unit into the country.

Wow

As much as I'd like for that prick to be deported, that would not be a good course of action. Because someday, if there are people who have VALID arguments against the government getting deported, you've now got yourself a tyrannical government.

That said, the Canuck citizens should hunt that guy down and give him a good reason to hate their country.

Sydney?

The peculiar thing about this story is that, unless it's been quickly and thoroughly buried and disavowed, neither the Toronto Star, Sun, Globe & Mail, nor the UofT Varsity have so much as a sniff about this. Now, I've seen L'Inq not only scoop the local dailies but even manage to be used as a source (!), but for tech stories, never anything quite so serious (Blog entry or not, this transcends the tech pages). Yet a Sydney paper, and not the Cape Breton version, used an AP wire source for their story. Just peculiar is all I'm sayin'.

Should be deported to Afghanada!

That's Peter MACKAY you dunce. You can't even copy-paste without screwing up? Sheesh.

MacKay is a big fat dumbass too, first of all for ever making a deal with Stephen Harper (ha ha, fool), then for getting mixed up with Belinda Stronach (heh heh, GRIN!).

The only semi-successful Canadian politician more totally moronic than MacKay is flaming queer Svend Robinson, 'nuff said about that waste of skin.

Actually, we are in Iraq

Although, Canada is not officially in Iraq, we do have some units there working with the US in the sort of "swap" style that has become popular to enable cross training between separate nation's armies.

Rights Vs Privilage

He might have the right of free speech, however by the sounds of it he has the privilege of a student visa to be here. Revoke the visa and boot is ass. You can say whatever you like, with the exception of hate speech (borderline at best), and while it may not be correct to step on his rights, his privileges can certainly be rescinded. If he is here at our pleasure, it only follows that if he displeases us...

As a soldier

I have to say as a CF soldier, I can't stand the ignorance of such a "student". I too attended UofT and graduated at the start of the new Afghan war. At that time, students protested Canada's involvement shouting "No blood for oil".
Really?

Canadian Terrorists

Well..... isn't that something.

Maybe now you Canadians will be less of a bunch of self-righteous jerks now that YOUR sons and daughters are targets of islamo-fascists.

As far as Afganistan versus Iraq, the islamo-fascists don't care, ANY western soldier is unwelcome in ANY muslim country.

But then, being good little puck-headed Canadians, you'll probably want to crawl back and hide under your beds until those weally nasty tewwowists go away....which, of course, they won't, seeing as they want to kill ALL westerners as degenerate scum.

Kill MacKay?

"There problems with the issue of free speech and the fact that a large chunk of Canadians might also want MacKey gunned down just for being Peter MacKey."

Actually, we'd probably prefer that Stevie Wonder, our local version of George Jr. be the one that was knocked off...

Errrrr... I think I hear CSIS at my door - gotta go.

A proud Canook, eh?

Canadians suck anyways!

I'm a Canadian and Canada SUCKS! Trust me. The Canadian government did (in multiple times) commit the UN crime of "genocide".

It is however true, the people are friendlier, but we still get freaks, racist pricks, and corrupt politicians.
