The 300 unit limited edition Lego playset features a desk with custom-made computer, circuit board based project, and a 2001 calendar marking a "fateful date."
We couldn't find out what a Lego Steve and Woz would find that was so fateful in 2001. In January 2001 Apple reported a $247 million loss from operations, due largely to the poor performance of the G4 Cube. Woz was not even in Apple and was setting up Wheels of Zeus to flog wireless GPS technology.
If the two men had been in a room, made of Lego or not, chances are Jobs wouldn't be engaging a love in with Woz. In 1987 Jobs had fried Woz's attempts to set up a universal remote control business by telling his suppliers that if they worked with his old chum they would lose Apple's business.
The Lego set goes on sale tomorrow and will set you back $40.

A sharp eyed reader found a better picture here. The "2001 calendar" mentioned in the press release is for the Stanley Kubrick film. The date marked is April 1977 which was the date of the release of the Apple II when Steve and Woz were chums and Apple's shift to entertainment gear was never an option. ยต
