CORNING said it has introduced a fusion form glass which will improve displays on mobile devices.

The glass, called “Jade”, works with LTPS (low temperature polysilicon) and OLED (organic light emitting diode) displays which, said Corning, will produce brighter displays, give higher resolutions and provide a longer battery life.

OLEDs are self-luminous displays which use organic compounds to emit light but backplane performance wasn’t good – Jade will help that.

Corning also has a product called Vita which will hermetically seal OLEDs, which suffer from air and moisture. µ
