Mozilla Foundation kills Mozilla

But Firefox will go on
Mon Mar 14 2005, 06:19
THE MOZZARELLA Foundation has announced that it has culled its Mozilla browser in favour of its cut down cousin Firefox.

In a press statement on the Foundation's site, it says that it will no longer develop the Mozilla browser.

It intends that the 1.7.x line of releases will be the last maintained versions released by the Foundation.

Of course if anyone in the Open Sauce community wants to develop Mozilla there is nothing to really stop them. However as far as the foundation is concerned the Firefox browser and Thunderbird e-mail client is all that is important.

This is not good news for those who use the Mozilla suite. But that's show biz. µ
