Microsoft extends empire with Vista coffee brand

Watch out Starbucks. And no, this is no April Fool's
Monday, 2 April 2007, 08:38
SEATTLE BASED Starbucks had better look to its laurels because a popular chain of Indian coffee shops based here in Old Bangalore and elsewhere in India has something to offer it clearly can't.

Cafe Press is offering a special promotion on Microsoft Vista WOWffee, with an irresistible Orange Buzz at RS40. Not only that, the chain has branded all of its menus with the Vista logo, making sure that you don't miss the message that Vista is as cool as the chain carrying the coffee.

You think we're making this up, don't you? We're not. Here's the menu outside and inside to confirm Microsoft's ambition to spread its empire ever wider into every area. OK, at RS40 ($0.93), the Vista coffee is a little more expensive than the bog standard beverage. But you're paying for the quality of the brand, aren't you? Intel, how will you respond? Google, what will you do?
