Dell to hire 2,000 extra Indian staff

HARDWARE GIANT Dell is to add an extra 2,000 people to its staff count in India, Dow Jones reports.

CEO Kevin Rollins told the wire that by the beginning of next year, its head count will number 10,000 people in India.

They will perform "back office work" and work developing software, the Dell head said. It already has three call centres in India. µ

* MEANWHILE, according to Indian newspaper the Financial Express , thousands of blood samples are being flown to India by NHS hospitals, which then emails the results back to Britain.
