Sex and violence apparently bad for kids
Wed Sep 05 2007, 11:18
GORDON 'BROWN' BROON has announced that he is ready to take the fight to the video games industry, promising to crack down on sex and violence in games.

According to the self-proclaimed 'best newspaper on the web,' none other than the Mirror, Brown said he was aware of "growing concern" about on-screen violence.

He would be contemplating new rules banning teens and youngsters from certain games and would also examine the role of advertising. His plans will be put to one of his new Citizen Jury setups for public approval and/or mauling.

Is Mr Brown aware that explicitly violent video games already carry a legally binding '18' certificate which prohibit their sale to minors in the same was as videos and DVDs? We suspect not. Perhaps El Gordo should focus on educating parents as to the BBFC's rating system. But why blame the electorate when you can scapegoat instead? µ
