Semiconductor Insights tears Iphone apart

Cruel and unusual punishment. BOM! BOM!
Monday, 2 July 2007, 10:22
THE GUYS AT Semiconductor Insights went out and bought an Iphone and immediately started to take it apart.

It compares components in the Ipod and the Iphone, including Samsung NAND flash memory. The phone has three RF components including an Apple part and a CSR Bluetooth device.

The processor is a Samsung chip too. The IO controller is a Broadcom component. The touchscreen is made by a German company. "There's nothing revolutionary" about the insides of an Iphone, said SI. But that isn't the point.

The video is here.

The guys at Semi Insights also sent us a couple of pics that help to explain the video. ยต
