Snoopy gets McDonald's in trouble in China

STATE ORGAN the People's Daily, reports that megaburger joint McDonald's faces a fine for flogging Snoopy toys, so breaching its licence.

According to the newspaper, McD could be hit with a 100,000 yuan bill for selling over 200,000 Snoopy toys during April and May last year.

McD's is only licensed to flog burgers, beverages and "packaging material", the state organ said.

And let this be a lesson to any other entrepreneur entering mainland China to do business. Despite entrance into the World Trade Organization, any firm trading things that it isn't registered to do faces a similar fine.
