14 year old finder loses his blog
Fri Mar 03 2006, 07:50
THE 14 year old who found a critical hole in Gmail has had his bog site shut down.

It is not clear if the kid, known as Anthony failed to pay his bill or just had the bog collapse under the weight of traffic.

Either way his warning to Google seems to have had an effect. A spokesGoogle said that it had fixed the flaw "very shortly after the initial blog post went up".

Because the vulnerability was fixed quickly, it likely never was exploited in any attacks, the representative said.

However, she told Anthony that Google preferred that people tell it about flaws in its operation before it goes public.
