YOU'VE BAULKED AT Word 2.0. You've spluttered at Web 2.0. And now that friendly, second-fiddle, make-up-the-numbers chip outfit, AMD claims to offer you Cinema 2.0.
Why, thanks to its upcoming teraFLOPS graphics chip, apparently codenamed RV770, the firm "punches a sizeable hole in the sensory barrier that separates today’s visionary content creators and the interactive experiences they desire to create," the firm's spinnerettes reckon.
And if you'll swallow that you'll swallow anything.
In Frisco yesterday, AMD showed some churnalists a Phenom X4 quad-core system containing two RV770 graphics cards on its 790 FX chipset.
The idea, floating around for eons now is to make cinema interactive. The short demo here, looks a bit fuzzy to us.
“Imagine going to the opening of a movie and upon getting home being able to play a game that looks and feels absolutely identical – right down to the character models and sets,” burbled Richard "Muddy the Waters" Huddy, who develops graphic relationships for AMD worldwide.
Why, the "demonstration of Cinema 2.0 represents a sip from the multi-billion dollar gaming industry’s Holy Grail, while presenting a new quest to digital filmmakers,” he overexaggerated.
Yay, hey! The excitement here is intense. Aren't you just drooling over your keyboard?
Right, pass me that shotgun, Bambi's mum's getting it. µ

You mean I could have all of Sawyer's nicknames at my beck and call?
"Come on {Freckles; Sassafras; Puddin'; Sweet Cheeks; Sheena; Thelma; Pippi Longstockings; Shortcake; Kiddo; Magellan}, let's virtually 'move' this island!"
Hoo! I'll need to take a breather!
I wasn't commenting on the current graphics card war status.

ATI makes graphics cards best out of the products they make.

Why do people always have to turn things into some blasted flame war about nVidia VS. ATI

Really people, get over it.
Actually, AMD makes graphics cards second best... at the moment, anyway.
If this isn't an example of over abusing lens characteristics to mimic a poor camera man's efforts, I don't know what is.

Just watching that example makes me nauseous. Even Cloverfield didn't abuse focus and zoom so much.

ATI, stick to what you do best, making graphics cards, leave the camera work to people who know what to do and what not to do with cinematic fx.
I thought the Monty Python boys found the Holy Grail years ago.

Don't want to continue the movie experience when I get home, I go to the movies to escape from real life for a while, now I'll be looking for something to escape from the movies?

Get real, you Hollywood homos. Not everyone wants you to control what we see and hear. You're all a bunch of sissy, whining, Boshevo-Stalinists anyway. Oh, and rapaciously greedy, too.
Now if someone would just make a movie depicting Hollywood and all the so-called entertainment types getting hacked, sliced, burned to a crisp, you know, just random acts of extreme violence perpetrated against the left coast "entertainment" industry. Now, THAT I would pay to see.
Over hype is expected from sales, but that demo looks sweet for the 4 seconds it is. Don't know what your wimpering about.

Lucky Richard Huddy - very few of us get to "develop graphic relationships worldwide" and get paid for it.
