And two other firms
Wednesday, 29 December 2004, 17:02
CHIP FIRM Intel said it has invested several racks of coins into three firms specialising in technology suitable for the digital home.

It has a $200 million Digital Home Fund, and that's where the money is coming from, but it didn't say how much it had lashed out.

The firms are Gteko, which makes networking and supports software; Synacor, a portal provider for bundled online services; and Zinio Systems, a digital magazine distributor.

To hacks, the Zinio one is interesting. It has a portfolio of 200 titles including Business Week and Popular Science. Intel first put money into Zinion in 2002, it said in a statement. It's now invested 12 times, according to Scott Darling, an Intel Capital vice president. He said the investments are to pave the way for delivering digital entertainment and info to the home. ยต
