Intel quad-core QX6600 on sale

€778 with German VAT, $879.00 in the States

INTEL made some noise about a more affordable quad core coming in Q1 2007.

It is now available but it's not cheap as beans.

An Intel Core 2 Quad Q6600 Sockel-775 boxed, 4x 2.40GHz, 266MHz FSB, 2x 4MB shared Cache (BX80562Q6600) is €778 including 19 percent Angela Merkel beer tax.

This is the cheapest one we could find in Germany. If it suits you, buy it here.

Scan has it on preorder for £546.38 Inc VAT including beer add-ons of a Gordon Brown flavour. You can pre-order one here.

Tigerdirect doesn't have it in stock. Newegg has it for $879.00. You can find that here. µ
