Things have finally changed as we are informed that you can get some of these cards at the Newegg shop. Here is the here.
It's packed with a bunch of cables for all the ins and outs you need and it's equipped with a nice remote controller and cool software support. This card is an AGP version and the only possible All in Wonder PCIe you can buy are based on the not so fast four pipelined X600 core, AIW of course.
The All in Wonder X800 is priced at $498 just as much as it was supposed to be and it's clocked to 500MHz core and 1000MHz memory.
What we don't understand is why ATI decided to slip these cards in retail prior to sending some of the samples to the meeja as it knows that we were making a noisy noise about the card's non-existence. ATI's multimedia team sure operates in its own world or it simply had to fulfil many of the backorders.
It took only six months to bring its paper launched solution to the market and now it's almost time for the next step in ATI's roadmap. I guess that there is high end PCIe based AIW card coming sometimes soon - at least ATI should be working on one.
I just got an idea. Imagine two All in Wonder R520 in AMR (ATI Multi Rendering), that would be a way of doing SLI. Sounds cool to me. ยต
