JAPANESE FIRM Kyocera has improved the efficiency of the solar cells it makes, achieving an efficiency of 17.5 per cent.
According to nikkei.net, this is one point more than its rivals.
It’s improved the efficiency of the polysilicon cells by moving the contact bars to the back of the units, allowing for more of the cell area to be exposed to light.
It will start making the product at its facotry at Yohkaichi in summer, said the wire. µ
