EU puts more pressure on Microsoft

Microsoft may face massive daily fines

MICROSOFT FACES further sanctions from the European Union which wants to ensure the software giant follows the compliance route a bit better than it's done already.

According to a report in today's Wall Street Journal, the €U issued a document to Microsoft today which could end up with Vole doling out €2 million a day unless it gets real about the rulings.

Neelie Kroes, the EU antitrust supremo, said she and the €U had given Microsoft every opportunity to comply. But her patience appears to have run out.

The Vole has got five weeks to react to her missive, intended to force Microsoft to shell out details of Windows' technical documentation. µ
