AMD SAID its Quad-Core AMD Opterons 2356 and 8356 are now the top x86 web performers for 2P and 4P servers, as measured by the Specweb2005 benchmark.

The 2P system posted a score of 30007 on an HP ProLiant DL385 G5 server featuring two AMD Opteron model 2356 chips running at 2.3 GHz.

The 4P system posted a score of 43,854, which AMD said is "roughly 2.5 per cent" up on the previous record. The HP ProLiant DL585 G5 server ran four Quad-Core AMD Opteron model 8356 processors at 2.3 GHz and rated at 75W using AMD's own average CPU power (ACP) rating. ยต
