Infineon to cut stake in memory firm Qimonda

Qimonda has got to go it alone

CHIP FIRM Infineon said it plans to significantly reduce its shares in Qimonda - its spun off unit which makes DRAM chips.

Infineon filed quarterly results recently which showed Qimonda was something of a drain on its own profitability.

Now it said it will divest its shares in Qimonda below 50 per cent and hopes to do that before its shareholder meeting in 2009. ยต
