FIRING SQUAD has written a piece that claims adding memory to Pentium 4s will actually slow down machines.

This is part two of the site's series, Building the Ultimate High End Gaming Workstation, and basically what it says is that 865 and 875 Intel chipsets add more latency when more than two DIMMs are added to a board.

The site claims that the drop occurs to Athlon64 and 875 based machines, but only if the memory is unused. µ
