XFX is working hard to bring you one of the first Geforce 6800 GS AGP units on the market. This card is clocked at 400MHz core, 1100MHz memory, an important 50 MHz faster than the recently announced Albatron card. Memory wise the card is 100MHz faster than Nvidia's recommended speed.

A PCIe version of the card has been available for some time but AGP is still a very attractive segment as more than 70 per cent of the upgrade market is still AGP.

A 6800 GS PCIe card is based on NV41 while the new 6800 GS AGP should be based on good old NV40, native AGP core.

Nvidia desperately needs AGP cards as it simply don't have many and ATI is happily smiling as it can and does ship AGP based cards. ATI is late with its X1600 and X1300 AGP cards but it still has X800 generation of cards to fill the gap. Its Radeon 9250 is still selling like there is no tomorrow, but of course ATI has some other problems and is missing some other cards such as, for example, Crossfire cards. µ
