Enterprise storage monster tested

HW Roundup LG expands Chocolate-style cellphones
Wednesday, 14 March 2007, 10:41
TECHARP REVIEWED A rare bird, a Seagate 750GB drive in its Enterprise variant. Enterprise drives are usually rare birds on reviews, since companies don't like reviewers to realise that ES-class drives are simply the same drives as desktops with a little more strict QA process. However, Seagate is now entering the market with its 750GB Barracuda drive, and it might just be the ticket to upgrade your server or workstation.

LegitReviews tested CoolIT Eliminator liquid-cooling system. This company came to the limelight when it started making Peltier-enhanced watercooling for Alienware, and now Dell for XPS computers (H2C).

We don't mention cellphones often, but every once in a while a certain model appears that cause an raised eyebrow or two. LG continued to improve its line-up by introducing VX6800, a clamshell version of their Chocolate design. In US, it is even available with a VCAST video and music service.

Motherboards.Org tested ECS AMD690GM-M2 V1.0A motherboard and found that even though now AMD has a decent integrated chipset, 690G still leaves reviewers wanting for more. Even worse, this board comes with a very limited bundle, in order to achieve best price.

The second tested motherboard comes with an interesting name, as a trademark from a subsidiary of Asustek Computer, more known as Asrock. 4CoreDual-VSTA is based on low-cost VIA PT880 Ultra chipset, and supports both AGP and PCIe video cards. Third and last for the day also targets a different segment than previous two, and that is something Neoseeker wanted to point out. Universal Abit now exist for quite some time, and AB9 Quad GT is a redo of AB9 Pro version, but this does not mean a bad thing, since Pro version was one of best P965 based boards on the market.

And in order to put those components in a nice case, you should consider acquiring CoolerMaster's latest baby tested over at Hitechreviews, iTower 930. While I will not forgive the company for killing the original Stacker (that was really a dumb call from the managment), Cooler Master sees the future in compact aluminium form. At the same time, Bjorn3D tested Spire's Pininfarina case.

CPU coolers are present on the market in massive numbers, while every once a while, a new player enters the market. Virtual-Hideout tested Enzotech Ultra-X CPU, while RBmods tested Artic Cooling Accelero S2 Video Card Cooler.

Judging by the number of reviews in past couple of weeks, absolute liebling of hardware reviewers has been Graphzilla's latest offspring, GeForce 8800GTS 320MB. Hexus tested ECS one and XS Reviews tested the MSI one.
