10 years in clink for an email
Thu Feb 02 2006, 10:24
AMNESTY demanded that Yahoo help free a journalist serving a 10 year sentence after the portal provided evidence to Chinese commissars.

The organisation said Yahoo provided account holder information on Shi Tao after he summarised a Communist Party directive to a foreign source.

He was sentenced to 10 years for providing state secrets to foreign invitations by using his email account.

Amnesty has provided a form letter on its web site, here, addressed to Yahoo co-founders Jerry Yang and David Filo. µ
