THE BBC is currently showing a violence and sex-laden TV series called Rome, which demonstrates that when it comes to civilisation, the Greeks probably had the edge.

Undeterred by this, Dorling Kindersley is introducing an online game for young kids as part of the publicity for its Eyewitness Book series.
