Nvidia nabbed some 3DLabs chaps too

Bunch of them

NVIDIA CONFIRMED in a conference call that it too had picked up bunch of ex-3Dlabs guys.

They weren't all snaffled up by Intel .

Nvidia is already king of workstation market and ATI simply can't do anything about it. New owner AMD might help ATI out here, but at this time Nvidia has more than 60 percent of overall workstation market - if not more.

The 3DLabs chaps know a thing or two about the workstation space and they can just help Nvidia to gain even stronger position in this area. Nvidia will have a tough time in a few quarters now as it will have nasty DAAMIT, AMD and ATI together, to fight.

Luckily, Nvidia is financially very healthy and will be able to cope with the massive change but we think it will have to buy or partner up with someone to be able to survive in the longer term.

3DLabs, meanwhile, is heading for the history books to join the 3DFX, Trident, Hercules and many other casualties of graphical war. µ
