ITALIAN broadcaster Mediaset SpA announced it is suing Youtube for at least €500 million in damages.
According to Mediaset, approximately 4,600 of its copyrighted clips (or 325 hours of transmission) are posted on the video-sharing site.
Parent-company Google responded by downplaying the allegations in an e-mail sent to various media outlets. "There is no need for legal action and all the associated costs...Youtube respects copyright holders and takes copyright issues very seriously".
Mediaset, however, warned that its €500 million lawsuit was just the beginning. The company noted that additional damages could be claimed if Youtube had caused a loss of advertising revenue.
Youtube is certainly no stranger to lawsuits. Indeed, Viacom recently sued the video-sharing site for "brazen" copyright infringement and demanded a staggering $1 billion in damages . µ
Bloody fascists taking a cheapshot....

Typical from a country that has never-ever won a war it participated in. ...At least not on the side it started it on...
"Typical from a country that has never-ever won a war it participated in"...... All countries which have started wars have lost, McBalaban ..... and that is without exception with their economies and infrastructures tanking/collapsing.

It is the price they always have to pay. Strewth, it is the simplest of lessons to learn but I suppose some are just too dumb to comprehend.
The Romans, weren't they Italians?

Rome/Italy ruler of a large part of the world for centuries. They also had advanced technology like 2 storey homes with underfloor central heating.

Romans/Italians also built many of the straight roads in Europe that we are still glad we have today.

But their greatest invention is Pizza and Pasta!
McBalaban: "Typical from a country that has never-ever won a war it participated in. At least not on the side it started it on"

Could you please name me another war (other than WWII) lost by Italy or won by changing side?
Don't tell me WWI because yes Italy was on Central Powers' side before entering the war but then when it choose to enter (1915) it started the war with the allies and remain with them till the end.

In any case how this is suppose to relate with Mediaset news? Youtube is a great site but is infringing copyrights, plain simple. Mediaset has all the rights to sue them.
