INTEL already told its customers that it wants to get rid of some old non Vista-supporting chipsets. It sent out what it likes to call a Product Discontinuance Notice informing customers thar, come February, the 915 and 910 chipsets will die.

Believe it or not Intel is still shipping 910GL graphic chipset but it intends to stop in February 2007. The list also includes 915GL, 915GV/915GV LF, 915G/915G LF, 915PL and 915P/915P LF. This is not the end of it, as Intel wants to get rid of the 865 series as well.

In January Intel sent Product Discontinuance Notice for 875, 865PE/865PE LF, 865P, 865GV/865GV LF, 848P/848P LF and 865G/865G LF. These ones will be finished come June 2007. Intel 945GC will replace these integrated chipset in the mainstream price range and Intel has four new chipsets G33 and G35 integrated and P35 and X38 to re-segment the market. ยต
