Microsoft Vista spells end to security woes

Ballmer speaks. The world can't help but listen

WHY IT'S only a few years ago that Steve Ballmer told an audience of UK hacks that Windows XP was more secure than previous software systems.

Roll forward from October 2001 to 2006 and you'll find Steve Ballmer saying Vista will squish viruses and worm attacks.

Vista is so bullet proof that's one of the reasons people should upgrade. Only the absurdly cynical would suggest Steve has an axe to grind on this one.
