UT3, HL2, Call of Duty 4 come under scrutiny

HW Roundup Intel's P31 Express chipset makes a debut
Monday, 15 October 2007, 17:54

INTEL'S VALUE OFFERING, the P31 Express chipset, has just been reviewed at Virtual-Hideout. They looked at GigaByte's GA-P31-DS3L motherboard, and since this board targets budget systems, don't expect world record performance.

The Unreal Tournament 3 demo was a much discussed topic over the weekend, with the low-down available at two websites: Legion Hardware and PC Perspective.

AMDZone also dislosed the benchmark results for Half Life: Episode 2 and Portal, Call of Duty 4 and of course, UT3. The only thing missing was ATI's 2900XT graphics card which simply wasn't mentioned.

Hardware Logic reviewed Corsair's VX450W power supply which shows you don't have to have 1KW in order to run the latest components together.

Bit-Tech reviewed the GigaByte Odin 800W PSU which is almost twice that of the Corsair, but it doesn't seem to make a huge amount of difference.

The last PSU is the 1KW Antec TruePower Quattro reviewed by PC Perspective. This unit looks set to help out with those 2GPU/3GPU/4GPU configurations that are coming our way.

OCC has published a review of Super Talent's DH Flash Drive which has 2GB of capacity and read/write speeds of 33MB/s - which is on a level with the fastest USB sticks on the market.

Another Super Talent drive - Supersonic 2GB - is reviewed over at Tekbunker.

Not to be left behind, OCZ has launched the ATV Turbo, a new generation of USB sticks, with the first review posted by Thomas De Maesschalk at Dvhardware.net.

AMDzone review

The reason ATI's 2900XT is missing from the review is because that dumbass Chris Tom has p*ssed off anyone who could give him one.
