Galaxy 7300GT matches reference 7600GS on performance

Hardware Roundup DFI entry level mobo tested

BIOSMAGAZINE checks the best mid range D-SLR camera according to them, the Canon EOS 30D, which is not only hefty and manly, but also produces gorgeous images and shots, is solidly built and has a ton of features. At eight megapixels, it packs a lot of technology including the ability to shoot up to five frames per second and its CMOS technology is amongst the best on the market for that price range. It is not a very exciting upgrade though from the EOS20D.

PCModding Malaysia celebrates its new design with a review of the DFI Infinity NF Ultra II M2 motherboard. If it is not the best entry level AM2 motherboards on earth, it is pretty damn near. It has one GbE, 7.1-ch audio, ten USB 2.0 ports, two firewire ports and is based on the nForce4 Ultra chipset, not on the newer one. There's even a SLI mod somewhere. It overclocks well and supports DDR1000 modules. The chipset cooler could be better but then you can't complain for the price.

We love Galaxy. Not the chocolate but the video card brand. Galaxy sent its Geforce 7300GT DDR3 video card to Hexus for a test. Unlike the overwhelming majority of cardmakers out there, each Galaxy card has this little something extra. The model at Hexus uses DDR3 memory, has HDTV and DVI ports and 256MB memory. There's also a huge Zalman fan on top of that as well as SLI. Mem/Core is set at 700/500MHz, which is way above others. As such the performance is almost the same as a 7600GS.

Ye auld already Dual core Processors have fallen in price massively in the last year or so. Techreport compares the new Athlon X2 3800+ Energy Efficiency Small Form Factor with the Core2 Duo E6300. Without being a biased Intel Fanboy, Intel's chip is faster than its AMD counterpart, whatever metrics you put and how much system memory you want to throw at it. Overclock it and it gives the FX62 a run for its money. In contrast, the EE SFF would be better suited in a passively cooled, quiet PC. Now I wonder is anyone has ever underclocked a Conroe, just to see.

Bonafide reports on the Samsung CLP-650N Network Color Laser Printer. Color Laser printers have decreased in size and in price, big way. So much so that it is no more a tool for the very rich. The 650N is no exception. It can print up to 20ppm, partly thanks to a 600MHz processor and 256MB memory. Yeah, that's a printer, not a P3. It is compatible with Linux and it is relatively cheap, at least when it compares with other network printers. As it is a Samsung, you can expect quality build and simplicity, on top of a three year warranty.

French website Overclex.net solved their menu problem and now present us with a review of the Asus P5B Deluxe WiFi/AP motherboard. The new BIOS apparently makes things sweater. FSB can now be overclocked over 500MHz, you will get CPU Modify Ratio support for Conroe and overall, you will register a slight increase in performance. The motherboard itself has six PCI xx slots, two GbE LAN, support for nine storage components, Wi-Fi controller, Firewire and much more.

If you want to send in reviews, hardware or software, don't hesitate, just bring them in. I am particularly fond of exotic hardware that you won't find elsewhere. Even if the review is not in English, as long as it is interesting and entertaining, send it in. Also I would be glad if someone could point me to a recent directory of hardware websites. µ
