DUBLIN-BASED ERP reseller Mentec International has acquired Microsoft partner Xdat Software.

Xdat is already the third largest reseller of Microsoft Great Plains in the UK, and will make Mentec the second largest Great Plains reseller in Europe.

Xdat has nearly 100 customers, mostly across the south east of England, in markets like financial services, publishing and retail. Xdat also gives Mentec a sizeable professional services base in London and the southern UK region.

Speaking of the deal, terms for which were undisclosed, Mentec managing director Kevin Haverty, said: "The addition of Xdat to our operations enables us to more effectively deliver consulting, development and support resources to the south of England, and provides us with a sizeable customer footprint in the Greater London region.”

Xdat is the third Microsoft Great Plains reseller to be acquired by Mentec. The company purchased Ireland's largest reseller, Sequel Financial Systems, in 2001. And in December 2004 bought Sytation, an East Midlands-based Microsoft partner. µ
