Wind PC blows in from Turkey

Blows its own trumpet
Friday, 25 April 2008, 12:23

THE UNFORTUNATELY NAMED 'Wind PC' from MSI is getting close to launch as Intel's partners on Atom start to get the first final chips. For those eager for some more information about the subnotebook, a new video preview is up on the interwebs.

However, you'll need to speak Turkish to understand anything more than blurry YouTube video can convey.

The chap in the video seems very excited indeed to have his hands on it, although perhaps it's the presence of the pseudo-blonde sitting next to him that's got him all fired up.

The Wind PC in the video is white, curvy, and looks suspiciously like the Asus Eee. Which, we suppose, is the point.

See it for yourself, here. The Wind is due to feature Atom, SSD storage options and may well come with Windows as well as Linux. Stay tuned. µ

Wind PC? Hillarious!

I just got it, it's unbelievable that someone would name a product like that... Wind as for fart... PC as for PC (pubococcygeus) muscle, that opens/closes the orifice...
LMAO

AT adds: What about a games console named after piss?

Translation

The guys says the pseudo blonde is MSI Turkey's general manager. She says it is a UMPC class laptop. And she basically goes over the technical specs which are printed on the last screen anyway (that's still in Turkish but anyone who is able to tell 1.2 Kg is not referring to the hard disk size can understand what is what) . She says it will be out in Turkey end of May, but not in white color, it will initially be pink and black. It will have a 6 cell battery later (has 3 cell now) which can last for about 5.5 - 6 hours. She says the target customer base is traveling salesmen, businessmen, businesswomen, students, youngsters, or office workers (apparently not Inq journalists). Etc. etc.
Nothing interesting to see here, please move along sir.

ohh my godddd

Well, in addition they say it has 80 GB harddisk (and for whatever reason they pronounce it as gee-ga-byte).

it seems to be one of the best in category in according to Miss/Mrs Gigabyte sales manager...

Well see in time...

Sorry, it is 6:25 in Sydney at this time and very drunk... I should have been up in the morning for the DAWN SERVICE instead...

nothing wrong with the name

There isn't any problem with the Wind PC.
Just try not to break it.
