BRITAIN'S BIGGEST sellers of Apple's wonderphone, Carphone Warehouse and O2, are both reporting that they have no further stocks of the first-gen mobies. The pair say they have no clue as to when they will have further supplies, further fueling rumours (spread by us mainly) that things are afoot in Cupertino.

It has been widely predicted that Steve Almighty will thrust the latest iteration of the phone that spawned a thousand clones into the spotlight at Apple's evangelical developer shindig (WWDC) on June 9th this year.

But ever-increasing announcements across the globe of new airtime partnerships, along with Apple's traditional new-kit-coming-soon price cuts and leaky Chinese fabrication plants dropping hints aplenty mean that anyone looking to lay their mitts on a next gen Iphone should be getting itchy palms (and a twitchy wallet) soon. µ
