Not only does a gin and tonic cost you 15 Euro at the Arts, but the wi-fi isn't free, as you can see below, and also has hidden stealth taxes. No, the Arts is not for me at 350 Euro a night.
Instead, I plumped for another hotel in the heart of Barcelona 22, which has great infrastructure and great plans for the future. Catalonia is investing 180 million Euro in urban renewal for this area, with a high speed rail link which will take you to France and so to London too.
This hotel, the Icaria, is clean - the staff are most friendly and obliging, and the wi-fi is free, as it should be in the Arts too. It's five minutes from the beach and a supermarket, and when I come to Barcelona again, this is the one for me.
And no, they're not paying me to write this.
