CONNECTION SPECIALIST USB Fever (nee Brando) has come up with another addition to its ever-growing arsenal of USB peripherals. This one appears to fall into the 'why on earth would I buy that' category but soon falls into the one marked 'things I can't live without'.
This time around it hosts the mother of all connections known to man and goes by the name exotic name of the SATA HDD Multi-Function Dock (USB + ESATA).
More connections than a Don Corleone
As you will have correctly guessed by the cunning product naming, the external unit can handle a 2.5 or 3.5-inch SATA HDD – much like Hyperlink's other popular hard drive docking stations.
Only now, they’ve combined an in-built 4-slot card reader and 2-port USB hub for all your lovely data transfer needs. The supported card types for this box of tricks are the all the expected SD varieties, the MMC favours, Compact Flash and the Sony Memory Stick types, too.
In terms of connections to the PC, Product Code: UCABL004500, its other great name has USB or eSATA ports providing its host to Vista, XP and those-who-shall-not-be-named and their Mac OS.
How much for this wonderful delight, we hear you cry? Just a paltry $54 and $25 for shipping, plus a mere $3 worldwide.
So if you've got an oldish PC, without all those useful ports on the front bezel, or a stack of naked SATA drives kicking around, you might just want to grab one of these. µ

...they incorporated a button that would let you back up a flash card onto the hard disk without needing to involve the computer, this would be a really handy gadget for us photographers who take too many photos. Dump your flash cards onto a drive every evening, sort them out on the computer at the weekend; slot in a new 500GB drive every time you run out of space. Compared with the devices with integrated screens that are designed for doing this kind of thing portably, it'd be much cheaper and larger - but still more appealing to leave in a hotel room than a laptop.

Oh well, maybe the next edition.
That is about the most awesome thing I´ve ever seen under $100. Yesterday, I thought it was naked pics of Drew Barrymore. I don´t have any, but if they exist, that´s pretty cool. Haven´t done a search just yet. But now...

It´s bookmarked. Hopefully, I´ll have one within the next week or two.

Thank you much.
