A man cannot be too careful in the choice of his enemies - Oscar Wilde
Nathan Brookwood, principal analyst at Insight 64, has already started a book on this interesting move, and has delivered a set of road maps on future runners and riders in the far off future.
According to Brookwood, British chap Sean Maloney is the odds-on fave to replace Paul Otellini as COO in 2010, and CEO in 2013. He will be "put out to pasture" in 2017, said Brookwood.
That could position Pat "Kicking" Gelsinger to succeed Maloney, or Anand "M&M" Chandrasekher (41) to be CEO in 2020. This is a two horse race, said Brookwood. "We'll get an early clue when the board names a new COO in 2017", he said.
Cnet also talks about Otellini's successor: It too mentions Sean Maloney (48), and Pat Gelsinger (43), as well
as Louis Burns (47).

More seriously, Brookwood said that the re-organisation we reported over the weekend means that the Intel Architecture Business Group (IABG) is gone, to be replaced by the groups we reported.
A particularly strategic move, said Brookwood, is the appointment of Louis Burns to head up the Digital Health Group. This is important to Intel because PCs will assist wrinklies. The demographics of ageing mean this segment will grow significantly over the next 10 years.
Burns will also look after personal healthcare, and so far it's unclear whether his brief will extend to such technology breakthroughs as "motes" embedded in your dentures which will auto-call your roving dental technician when they need replacing. ยต
